Farmer’s Reaction 

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell.

He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and
set about nailing it to a post on the edge of
his yard.
As he was driving the last nail into the
post, he felt a tug on his overalls.
He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

“Mister,” he said, “I want to buy one of your
puppies.”

“Well,” said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat
off the back of his neck, “These puppies come
from fine parents and cost a good deal of money.”

The boy dropped his head for a moment.
Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a
handful of change and held it u p to the farmer.

“I’ve got thirty-nine cents.
Is that enough to take a look?”

“Sure,” said the farmer.
And with that he let out a whistle. “Here, Dolly!” he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran
Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain
link fence.
His eyes danced with delight.
As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller.
Down the ramp it slid.
Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up…

“I want that one,” the little boy said, pointing to the
runt.
The farmer knelt down at the boy’s side and said,
“Son, you don’t want that puppy.
He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would.”

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence,
reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his
trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down
both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, “You see sir, I don’t run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands.”

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup.

Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.

“How much?” asked the little boy… “No charge,”
answered the farmer, “There’s no charge for love.”

The world is full of people who need someone who
understands.

First MasterClass Report and Findings

This is my sixth study week, with John Thornhill’s “MastercClass 2010” and I’m waiting for tomorrow’s coursework “Week 7” download.

Please remember that I was on John’s 2008 Internet Marketing Coaching course, (No longer available), but I never reached the end – too complicated to elaborate on here!

I am finding such a dynamic difference when comparing the 2 courses.

John Thornhill has certainly excelled himself with his latest course creation “MasterClass 2010″.

It has no resemblance with his earlier ones.  Although there is a long way to go until I finish the 36-week studies, (Plus all the extra weeks added on, so I have been informed), which now makes 42 weeks at the latest count!  This must make it the best value available on the Interenet, as there is no extra cost for the “Extras” added.

It would seem that each lesson has been written specifically for “MasterClass 2010”.  There has been NO copying and pasting from the original course; all the spoken course material and all the video content, is brand spanking new.

I have found, (So far), that every lesson has been thorough and presented in such an interesting way that it holds one’s attention the whole time.  For me, it creates an exciting situation so I find it hard to close my PC down and I need to go onto the next part of the week’s course.  The adrenalin flows!

There’s another marked improvement too!

John has improved as a teacher since the previous course.  He doesn’t hurry; his verbal teaching is precise, exact and interesting; His local Northern dialect gives the course that extra “Uniqueness” and is a free extra into the bargain!

He doesn’t “drone” like some lecturers do as I remember from my schooldays.  I like the way he puts over his lectures, (Lesson’s), his spoken word is so captivating it holds your attention every moment, from start to finish.  This is all integrated with the video content.

In my personal case I have to concentrate carefully all the time in case I miss an important minute point – yes – I think every minor thing is covered as one proceeds.  I have gone back to week one a couple times. This is my way of revision and cementing he information firmly into my brain.

I’m no teenager these days, so my absorption capacity is slower!

Do you know?  Each time I revisited my earlier weeks, I found that I had missed something, or I found that I had made a small mistake that wasn’t evident the time!

I have now made it my “Brief” to go over each weeks lesson more than once, as a self check, to ensure I haven’t overlooked anything.

You can obvious tell from this blog that I’m enthusiastic and keen to progress to the end.  I just love this course!

I was unable to take advantage of Steve’s offer, of Planetsmsms.com  who produces interesting Header and Footer banners for blogs and web-sites, (Click here to visit site), as he is on holiday as I write this.

I am not exactly a patient person.  If I want something, I tend to want it now, rather than wait for a week or two, so I decided to look further into graphics.

In the end, (It took me a whole day, with the research), I produced my own graphics, complete with the only digital photo I have of myself included in the “Header”.

After I had sorted out the basics, I then set to, to “tweak” up the colours and hues, to blend everything together.

Within 24-hours of uploading the “NewLook”, I had received 2 comments regarding the graphics, both were positive, saying how interesting they were, or how interesting they found the content of my blog.

I don’t mind telling you – This made my day!

If you are interested in how I produced the new graphics for my web page, I came across some software which is almost automated.  You can click a button and it will create a whole Theme for you.  I will be writing a review on this in the near future.

If you are not a patient person, (Like me), you can go to the software website. The software is called Artisteer, (Click here to visit site), to see what I used.

I don’t have to recommend it, (Except to say that it is all straightforward and easy), just look at the colours, hues, header, etc; of the Theme I am using at the moment. (Note the Photograph Top Right Hand Side, just in case I change, after posting this! It’s possible!

Now I am going over my studies again to check everything, as my week 7 turns up in my Email box tomorrow, (Sunday).

A New Start in June

 

I am mystified!  Where has it come from?

 

I think I have been prescribed wrong medication!

 

My body and brain seems to be in overdrive and life’s hectic – rather like driving at formula one track speeds!  Everything is exciting, fast and hectic!

 

I’ll let you into a secret (S’hhhhhh) don’t broadcast it but I have just become John Thornhill’s latest member in “Partnership-to-Success” (His new, fast moving, super teaching course)

 

As I have been following John, (Sometimes in my “Sneaky” gear) since 2009, I know quite a lot about him.  Everything I know, I am genuinely impressed with. His integrity and honesty has given him such a good name in the Internet Marketing field, his is probably the most respected person in the field

 

John is a “Northerner” and is quite outspoken.  He is also “Up Front” and you know where you are with him and he gives his wealth of knowledge quite freely, often giving to loads of free and very useful tips in his special field of “Internet Marketing” and “Selling on E-Bay”

 

He never varies; if he can help someone, he does! Not only that, but the help is usually immediate!

 

It is for these qualities that I have had no hesitation in the charge for a realistic fee for teaching me his methods

 

I have just finished week one, (The first week of the course).  It is similar to his previous week 1 in his last course but this has been improved out of all proportion

Of course, as I have learned so much from him during the last 3 years, I gained some useful technical knowledge that is helping me digest the information in his very professional produced video lessons

 

I have become more and more interested in the Internet as a hobby and past-time, to the detriment of my Keyboard Playing – I have played a note or song since 2009!

 

This has taken a much lower priority.  I still like music, so it is quite feasible that I will drop back into some playing again in the future, so I am looking after my keyboard and all my music books etc.,  I have downloaded an “On-Line” music course called “Play Music by Ear”

 

I have had a look at this and it is quite a different way to approach playing the Keyboard.  I will write more about this at a later date.  This is so different that I am sure that some of my readers will be interested in why and what is different The idea is unique AND FANTASTIC!

 

This is in my “To Do” list. It will make a most interesting article and hopefully introduce budding keyboard players to a better approach and make them better at playing

 

Finally, for my new course, I am keeping this quite separate from my original “Pengalanty’s Blog”.  It is called Allan Cazaly’s Blog, with a different header and will shortly to be found at www.allancazalyblog.com

 

You can log in here and follow my progress, week by week.  You will be able to see how the blog starts with absolutely nothing and then increases in interest, content and presentations.  It should also have some advertising material should you want to follow my path

 

I already write articles regularly in another blog/forum site.  I have professional knowledge in some practical trades, including Solar Panel Installation, Central Heating and fault finding.  I get a “Buzz” from passing on information that helps other people with their boating problems

British Holiday Season in Full Swing

Now that the calendar has clicked over from July to August, the holiday season is in full swing. The majority of people and families in the UK will either be on holiday, just finished a holiday, or just about to take one.

I am writing this especially for all you overseas readers visiting my blog, as you may like to consider a holiday Most Usedwithin the UK, steeped in history and gliding through the lush countryside.

Now what a wonderful idea to considering taking a unique holiday steeped in history, don’t you think? It is not difficult to do this. You will realise why when I suggest that you consider a Self-Drive Boating holiday on the English canals. Most of these canals are around 200-years old, fell into decay after the Second World War and then taken over by enthusiasts and restored “Little by Little”, “Section by Section”.

Now the UK can be proud of all the work that passionate folk from every walk of life have done with the overall restorations of various canals over the last 70 years. This work is still going on and the latest canal to be completely restored is the Droitwich canal.

The last section has now connected the Worcester and Birmingham canal.  This has been recently opened and one can cruise right through to the River Severn at Driotwich, near the City of Worcester.

I belong to the “Cutweb” club. This is a club for boaters, so they can communicate with one another via the Internet. The name came about, as the “Old” working boatmen used to call the canals “The Cut”, as they were hand cut through the countryside to connect the major Industrial centres spreading out from the Midlands, or should I say the “Black Country”; basically the West Midlands where everything may have started.

“Cutweb” is a made up club name, quite naturally as “Cut” relates to canals and “Web” the Internet. This may seem obvious on explanation but it is surprising how many times one is asked how the name came about.

I have taken the trouble to mention the foregoing as one of our club members (Andrew Dyke) has just cruised the Droitwich canal and has put together a lovely album slide show, together with suitable background music that enhances his photographs. Andrew Dyke’s Slide Show creation depicts the unique and typical lush green countryside in the Heart of England. It is extremely well done.

You too can experience a simply wonderful holiday that you will not find anywhere else in the World. Not only do you cruise between the hamlets, villages, towns and Cities; the journey will take you through different access points of the Towns and Cities, (Namely the backs of the factories in the Industrial parts etc.,) and these have not been modernised due to the fact that the general public do not see this side of the buildings.

You actually cruise through History from the canal side views and this will take you back in time; the brickwork and the construction sometimes staying unchanged for a up to a couple of hundred years.

It is fascinating and is an experience one should not miss. On the canals, the “Paddle Gear” is original and repaired in the original style in most cases. The paddles are the mechanism that lets water in and out the locks, so that you can proceed up and down the hills in your “Self-Drive” narrowboat.

I have honestly say that I have never, ever met or spoken to anyone, who after taking an English boating holiday, has not been so smitten that they cannot wait to book up and take another boating canal holiday.

It is so different, one cannot put into words the unique experience gained with relaxed cruising together with the excitement of seeing something unexpected, the interest of hidden history, the quaint places the canals that take you off the beaten track that you would have missed by any other sort of transport and visit to England.

It is a must for just everyone from teenagers to retired people to experience from all walks of life. You will find canal folk, the meeting at locks with other boaters and the general friendly chat something you will take back home with you, never to be forgotten

I wrote about a this type of holiday approximately 3 years ago, mainly to introduce the “Overseas” visitor, who hasn’t the knowledge or experience to research accurately who the better Hire Boat companies are and who to miss out. I am sure that you are much like me and would like confirmation that you are hiring with a reputable company and that you place your holiday where you are going to have a wonderful experience starting with the warm family type business welcome and perhaps even having a present of a bottle of wine and fresh flowers in your floating holiday home.

FREE ENERGY

More on Free Energy

Energy is important to me.  I have to generate ALL my Own Power, as I live on an English canal narrowboat.

I never connect to a “Landline” source of electric power, as I am always cruising on the canal network and rarely visit a Marina.

Up to last Christmas, all my energy was produced using my Main boat engine.  This is fitted with a large powerful 24-volt alternator, rated at 100-amps.  It is American design.

For those who are interested, it is “Prestolite” make, Type “Loadhandler” SC series (110-302 8SC3015U W/ATTACHED REG. 105-229), which is the RF suppressed model.  (This means it will not interfere with radio reception etc).

I was running the engine for around 4 to 5 hours daily, to replace the energy used and keeping my battery bank charged, until I fitted Solar Panels.

I fitted 4 Voltic Solar Panels x 130 watt rated (12-volt output) on my cabin roof at the beginning of 2010.

The solar panels are wired in pairs giving me a 24-volt output to match my 24-volt DC installation on my boat.  I was able to wire the panels directly into my main power inverter, as it has a solar regulator built in, (Lucky me!)

This has reduced my engine running from 4-5 hours a day, to about 1.5 hours a day, (A considerable saving).  I do run my engine for longer when I am using my washing machine, or cooking with my induction hob and electric oven etc., so that the load is shared between the battery and alternator; (That’s being kind to the batteries, so that the last longer).

I am intending to add a “Wind Generator”. The particular one I am interested in, is German manufacture and it is called “Superwind”  It does appearf to be more efficient than many other types of wind generator.

However, I may change my mind!

 

Read on and you will see why I might invest in something more interesting!

Now I have just “Discovered” another fascinating source of energy – FREE ENERGY – Yes, according to the inventors, it IS free energy.  Now I am personally interested in this, because it would make such a difference to my fuel bills – It does seem a large claim.. I have just read all I can about this new product and have become quite enthusiastic about it.

After reading everything I could find about it and the Australian inventors, I believe they may have something that is immensely interesting to me and I  am going to build their “free energy” electric generator and instal it in my narrowboat!

NOBODY’S DOING MUCH ABOUT IT UNTIL NOW!

I was browsing the Internet this week and came across some interesting information about “Free” energy from the weather (Wind Turbines) and “Free” energy from the sea, (Water Turbines).

I became immersed in the complexity and found the subject matter extremely interesting, so I thought I would share it with you.

It seems that the largest Water Turbines are about to take advantage of the energy produced by the sea off the coast of the Shetland Islands and off the coats of Ireland. Apparently the water around the British Isles has the second highest rise and fall of tides in the world.

Rather than form large barriers, which would almost undoubtedly change the “Wetlands” around our coasts, affecting the wildlife and migrating birds, a totally different approach is foreseen, with little disturbance to nature. I like this idea!

I have copied and pasted a few published articles below, (The Authors and Publishers have been included, as well as the source of the information, so you are in a position to delve deeper in these most interesting technical achievements, should you wish to do so.

I personally find modern technical achievements almost beyond belief these days and consortiums, companies and financial wizards, making all this possible, should be commended.

One thing puzzles me though in the articles! Two companies, both claiming the largest energy producing invention, cannot be right! I will be watching these two quite different water turbine plants, still to be brought in commission, with great interest. The ideas are quite different and both have their merits, (To a non-engineering person like me!)

Regarding Wind Turbines, I have copied some articles about early results in various parts of the world, where there has been quite severe difficulties regarding the death of wildlife and migrating birds, with some of these. This is due to two main points, One being the turbines themselves and the other, the locations picked for the turbines.

There are potential ideas to improve the situation, making them more acceptable but all the possibilities seem to be quite expensive and in some cases, prohibitive, cost-wise.

I cannot see any way that the visual look can be tackled. I love the beautiful sculpture like designs of modern wind turbines but not everybody takes my view.

There are many others that think these turbines destroy the beauty of the natural countryside. However, not many people complained about the 1000’s of miles of high tension electricity lines that criss-cross the countryside in the past; surely these have more of a detrimental effect on nature’s beauty?

Perhaps we have become an unhappy civilisation, ready to complain about anything? (Further food for though perhaps?)

WORLD’S LARGEST MARINE TURBINE

The Atlantis Resources AK1000

The world’s largest tidal turbine was recently unveiled in Scotland, weighing 130 tons, 74ft (22.6m) tall, with two 60ft (18.3m) diameter rotors and generating 1MW on both tidal ebb and flow. The Atlantis Resources AK1000 can supply power to 1000 homes, and is to be installed at the European Marine Energy Centre in the Orkney Islands, and has taken more than ten years to develop.
Atlantis Resources’ chief executive Tim Cornelius explained that, ” The turbines turn at six to eight revolutions per minute, so are incredibly slow turning and will have zero impact on the surrounding environment.” Theoretically, the turbine rotors should not harm marine animals.

1.2 MEGAWATTS: WORLD’S LARGEST TIDAL TURBINE TO BE INSTALLED

A company called Marine Current Turbines will be installing a 1.2 megawatt tidal turbine in Northern Ireland’s Strangford Lough in August. The SeaGen turbine will be the world’s largest ever tidal current device by a significant margin. It will generate clean electricity for approximately 1000 homes. The turbine is a prototype to be replicated on a large scale over the next few years. The rotors on the SeaGen turbine turn slowly: about 10 to 20 revolutions per minute. A ship’s propellers, by comparison, typically run 10 times as fast. The risk of impact from SeaGen rotor blades is small, because the marine creatures that swim in strong currents tend to be agile, and can avoid slow-moving underwater obstructions.

Future turbines will generally be rated at from 750 to 1500 kilowatts (kW), and will be grouped under the sea, at places with high currents, in much the same way that wind turbines in a wind farm are set out in rows to catch the wind.

Commenting on the future prospects for tidal current energy, Martin Wright, Managing Director of Marine Current Turbines said: “We will build on the success of SeaGen to develop a commercial tidal farm, of up to 10MW in UK waters, within the next three years. With the right funding and regulatory framework, we believe we can realistically achieve up to 500MW of tidal capacity by 2015 based on this new SeaGen technology.”

WIND TURBINES TAKING THE TOLL ON BIRDS OF PREY

ALTAMONT PASS, Calif. — The big turbines that stretch for miles along these rolling, grassy hills have churned out clean, renewable electricity for two decades in one of the nation’s first big wind-power projects.

But for just as long, massive fiberglass blades on the more than 4,000 windmills have been chopping up tens of thousands of birds that fly into them, including golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, burrowing owls and other raptors.
After years of study but little progress reducing bird kills, environmentalists have sued to force turbine owners to take tough corrective measures. The companies, at risk of federal prosecution, say they see the need to protect birds. “Once we finally realized that this issue was really serious, that we had to solve it to move forward, we got religion,” says George Hardie, president of G3 Energy.
The size of the annual body count — conservatively put at 4,700 birds — is unique to this sprawling, 50-square-mile site in the Diablo Mountains between San Francisco and the agricultural Central Valley because it spans an international migratory bird route regulated by the federal government. The low mountains are home to the world’s highest density of nesting golden eagles.
Scientists don’t know whether the kills reduce overall bird populations but worry that turbines, added to other factors, could tip a species into decline. “They didn’t realize it at the time, but it was just a really bad place to build a wind farm,” says Grainger Hunt, an ecologist with the Peregrine Fund who has studied eagles at Altamont.
Across the USA — from Cape Cod to the Southern California desert — new wind projects, touted as emission-free options to oil- and gas-fueled power plants, face resistance over wildlife, noise and vistas. The clashes come as wind-energy demand is growing, in part because 17 states have passed laws requiring that some of their future energy — 20% in California by 2010 — come from renewable sources.
Environmental groups, fans in principle of “green” power, are caught in the middle. “We’ve been really clear all along, we absolutely support wind energy as long as facilities are appropriately sited,” says Jeff Miller, Bay Area wildlands coordinator for the Center for Biological Diversity, which took 12 companies to court.
Wind energy is a tiny but fast-growing share of U.S. energy — 0.4%, up from less than 0.1% five years ago. Since November, when Congress reinstated a key tax credit for wind producers, the industry is poised to expand by as much as a third this year, the American Wind Energy Association says.
In 2004, wind generated enough electricity to power 1.6 million households, the association says. Altamont’s turbines are the nation’s No. 2 producer. Few energy experts think environmental concerns will discourage wind development long-term because the tradeoff is too appealing.
“When you opt for wind turbines, you don’t opt for pollution that harms children and crops from fossil-fuel power plants,” says Dan Kammen, an energy professor at the University of California-Berkeley.
But windmills — derisively dubbed by some “toilet brushes in the sky” — draw fire when they’re planned in areas prized for their pristine landscapes:
• Cape Cod groups are fighting what they call visual pollution from 130 turbines, each taller than the Statue of Liberty, sought for Nantucket Sound. Fishermen fear loss of prime fishing grounds from the USA’s first offshore project.
• Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., asked the Government Accountability Office to study the effects more windmills would have in the Appalachians. Research found that existing turbines killed up to 4,000 bats on Backbone Mountain last year.
• In the Flint Hills of Kansas, the Audubon Society worries that windmills could despoil views in one of America’s few remaining stands of native tallgrass prairie and harm habitats of migrating prairie birds.
• Acting Gov. Richard Codey last month ordered a 15-month wind-power moratorium on the New Jersey shore, where the desire to preserve Atlantic views has collided with plans for offshore turbines near Ocean City and other sites.
Altamont Pass bird kills have been known for years, but turbine owners and federal regulators ignored them except to urge more research, says Miller of the Center for Biological Diversity. But a California Energy Commission study in August found bird fatalities much higher than had been thought and laid out steps to limit them.
At the same time, 20-year-old county permits were up for renewal, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service decided to crack down. “Twenty years has just been too long to resolve this problem,” says Scott Heard, the agency’s chief Northern California enforcement agent.
Fish and Wildlife can prosecute those responsible for kills under federal laws that protect eagles and migratory birds.
The center’s lawsuit was withdrawn but filed again in November because the wind companies’ bird-protection plan was “not a serious attempt,” Miller says. The center is appealing Alameda County’s approval of new permits.
The state study’s key recommendation would be costly for companies: replace old turbines with fewer, larger-capacity modern ones, relocate them away from favorite bird haunts and build them more than twice as high so blades rotate above the birds’ flight paths.
Environmentalists want 3-year permits that can be renewed only if companies show progress. The companies, citing financial pressures, have proposed at least 13-year permits and want their own timetable for installing new turbines.
Alameda County is trying to broker a deal. “We can’t put them out of business by telling them to take out all their old turbines,” says assistant planning director Steven Buckley.
Turbine owners say Altamont’s 4,000-plus windmills are outdated and eventually will be replaced by 1,000 or fewer new ones. G3 Energy, a small Altamont operator, is replacing 180 obsolete turbines with 38 larger ones.
Others are more cautious. FPL Energy, Altamont’s biggest operator with 2,000 turbines, wants the study’s findings tested. “Certainly the turbine owners hope fewer, taller turbines reduce collisions,” says FPL spokesman Steve Stengel. “But there has not been research done to verify that.”

It seems that “Free Energy” is gaining momentum. The recent deep sea oil Tragedy, in the Gulf, may speed this up.

I like the idea of sea turbines, especially around the coast of GB where we have the second rise and fall of the tides in world, which in turn must increase water flows and currents in this area.

I am writing this short  summary advice  - To suggest that you DO NOT COPY ME by creating your own blog graphics.  It creates complications whilst studying John’s “MasterClass” course, in as much that Google Ads and Ad-Sense are not optimised on my blog page and they do not work.

This means that I do not have the opportunity to “Cash-In” on any clicks to these adverts – They are not there!

However, I’m working on this, (Which is hard for me), as I have very little experience in doing anything technical by manual means, (Not Automated).  I have no guarantee that I can get this Google-Ads added to my “Unique” blog page and I might have to revert to the “Prosense” ones again.

I like a challenge though and as I have more time on my hands than most students of John’s, (I am semi-retired and drive a delivery truck fitted with a rear-mounted crane, part time), I call the truck, my “Big Boys Toy”, as I enjoy the work and meeting the customers!

It has its downside though! I am “Anchored” to the Herdforshire area of the UK.  That’s one reason I am keen to succeed with John Thornhill’s MasterClass course, as it will set me FREE from my Hertforshire Anchor.

As I live on a Narrowboat, (And when I am free), I will have the option to crane my boat on to a flat bed truck, then have it transported to France,  so that I can cruise the French canals; something I have wanted to do for many years.  The flat-bed truck, complete with boat would cross the English Channel using a “Roll on – Roll off” ferry.

This is not a cheap option. The whole process, (Hire of crane 2 cranes and hire of transport including the ferry charges), runs to about £1200.00 minimum, (About $1800 – £2000 US dollars at a guess).  One mustn’t forget – To return to the UK is another cost of similar proportions!

By this time, (He says with tongue in cheek), I might be earning enough from the Internet, by following John’s example with a Mindset to help people, using my wide knowledge gleaned through a colourful array of different jobs and trades.

I have already written my first digital Ebook.  This was done whilst studying with John on his 2008 course, (The forerunner of his 2010 MasterClass course).  I subscribed to his latest course, as I fell by the wayside half way through the 2008 course and never finished it!  It’s too complicated a story to go into details here. If you are wondering about the earlier course, there is no comparison – the 2010 course is streets ahead, both in video content and John’s teaching, (Lecturing methods), and he is now as good as any Top University Lecturer! (My Opinion)

There was an interesting article I came across not so long ago.  This is an especially interesting Web-Site for any reader who has children.  It was written by Gunnar Sillén, of Sweden.  I came across his very interesting website because he took a holiday on the English Oxford (Narrow) Canal in 2009 and made a model narrowboat design.

When you visit his website, (Click here), you will see the stunning English countryside, all green and lush.  I am sure you will enjoy the stand of his photography too!”

From his very successful holiday, there appeared a reference in one of the Canal forums regarding the making of his model Narrowboat, which is how I came upon his  website.  It is mostly written in English.

All the models and directions for making them, (They are excellent), can be downloaded from here and there are a variety of his creations, (Models) to make.  It includes Christmas decorations too! The narrowboat was is primarily due to his recent holiday on one in 2009.

When you view the photographs of his finished models, you will be amazed at the realism.  Take note of the water the ships are “floating” on, in the models.  The finish is very realistic and every model is to an extremely high standard. The photography is also worthy of noting, as it compliments his work.

Gunner has been very generous and has made all his designs “Downloadable” and Free of Any Charge.  He does stipulate though, that he gets upset if anyone uses this for profit.  Please don’t do this!

I hope you noticed that he makes a comment that his holiday on the English Canals was one of the *BEST HOLIDAYS* he has ever had!

This confirms my experiences.  When talking to holiday makers on  hire narrowboats they too, ofetn make similar comments.  Some, (Like me), have taken a number of these holidays.  My family booked over 20 canal holidays over the years.  We usually took our immediate relatives.

My continued interest in canals and boating led me to obtaining my own boat and I now live on “Pengalanty”.  It is my floating home and I love it!
