June 2011

A big welcome again to my loyal blog followers.

June has been a busy month.

I have been spending money again on Digital Software and haven’t had time to study the programs I have purchased and downloaded yet; mainly because Toni’s (My ex. Wife) new narrowboat has had many minor problems.

Her Narrowboat is a very high specification build but has suffered some condensation problems.  There is little to show regarding the joinery and light oak cladding with only a small area in the Vacu-flush toilet suffering a little black mold – a minor defect.

Most of the problems were on the electrical side and contacts on relays, high resistance on cable connections, (Especially the battery power domestic side).  I suspect it is connected with the boat being sadly being left very lonely without any love and care attention, in a Marina, all alone.

Everyone must know that mechanical items are better used.  However, as I have been unofficially appointed “Engineer in Chief” for her boat (An unpaid position) I have been busy fixing charging problems, Aircraft type toilet not working, fixing the electric cooker controls, both hob and oven presets etc.,

Fortunately, all these unexpected faults were easy to trace but time consuming.  If I was a full time electrician, plumber and  motor mechanic,, with all the expensive high-tech test equipment, I might have been able to “fault-find” much quicker.

I have worked in all these trades and gained considerable knowledge which is always coming to my rescue.  In my earlier days, I had my own central heating business, shopfitting and joinery business.  Through this, I gained all my electrical domestic and commercial installation business.  Al this is never forgotten and it stands me in good stead, even today.

The month of June has been mainly spent on fixing and general maintenance on both my narrowboat “Pengalanty” and Toni’s narrowboat “Snowdrop”, plus the start of our cruising from the South East of the UK (Near London) and we are heading towards York, in North Yorkshire.  This is na journey in a motor vehicle of about 4 to 5 hours, depending on a stop on the way.  On the canals, we should arrive (At a leisurly pace) sometime I the Autumn, probably the beginning of October.

I might add that getting there is not the prime target but enjoying the journey, the countryside and everything that nature provides alone the way; it really is a fascinating lifestyle.  One doesn’t realize just how much is missed when you drive alone the motorways at 60 or 70 miles per hour.

Anyway, all these things take time and I have not developed my Internet Marketing very much.  Hopefully, I will have more time to study next month.

I did make the effort and drove (By car) up to Northallerton, in North Yorkshire to an informal Internet meeting held in a typical English pub (With atmosphere) and net around 24 other people who attended.  It was a positive experience, most enjoyable and I made a couple of friends there.  I am attending the next meeting there on the 9th July; something I am looking forward to.

I plan on spending more time on my new Electronic Cigarette venture, over the forthcoming weeks.  So as to separate my personal blog material from my other interests, I have made a new section called “Personal Page”.

This will make it easier for you to pick out the bits you like in my “Pengalanty Blog”, like green energy, E-Smoking (Remember that I don’t smoke) and all the exciting advantages this new medium offers smokers, without the smoking downsides (This includes BIG pluses for non-smokers!) English canal cruising (Watch this space for news and give-aways) and you will also be able to read up on my personal progress, adventures for those who want to follow my progress on my Internet interests.

This is my first entry in my “Personal” column.  Please let me know what your thoughts are, including ways that I can make this an exciting place to browse.  After all, there’s no advantage in spending time to write to you if you find the content boring!
